SYDNEY FESTIVAL –  January

Sydney Festival enlivens and transforms Sydney with a bold cultural celebration based on the highest quality art and big ideas. Celebrating its 40th year, looking back at all the best Sydney Festival moments from years past, but simultaneously looking forward at the new memories we’ll surely be creating.

VIVID – May to June

Vivid Sydney is a unique annual event of light, music and ideas, featuring an outdoor ‘gallery’ of extraordinary lighting sculptures, a cutting-edge contemporary music program, some of the worlds’ most important creative industry forums and, of course, the spectacular illumination of the Sydney Opera House sails.

SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL – June

Sydney Film Festival is one of the world’s longest-running film festivals, and is a major event on the New South Wales cultural calendar. The 12-day Festival screens feature films, documentaries, short films and animation from around the world in venues across the city including the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Opera Quays, the Art Gallery of NSW, the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace in Cremorne, Dendy Newtown, and the Skyline Drive-In Blacktown. SFF also takes place at Apple Store Sydney and SFFTV @ Martin Place.

SYDNEY WRITERS FESTIVAL – June

The Sydney Writers’ Festival is bringing some of the biggest names in literature to Sydney for one week of inspiring talks, panels and performances.

ARCHIBALD – July to October

Australia’s most extraordinary art event.   The Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes is an annual exhibition eagerly anticipated by artists and audiences alike.

SCULPTURE BY THE SEA – October to November

The 20th Anniversary Bondi Exhibition.  The largest free to the public sculpture exhibitions in the world. See the coastal walk transformed into a 2km long temporary sculpture park featuring over 100 sculptures by artists from Australia and across the world.
